The Knickerbocker Investigation
(Round Two 5-10-08)
O.R.P.I.T. revisited the Knickerbocker,
in Linesville PA, for another investigation. This time we had Sleepy Hollow Amusement
Inc. along with us to document the investigation.
The investigation began on 5-10-08. We arrived at approx. 8pm and began setup of our DVR system.
We set up in the manor as the previous
investigation. Two cameras on the second floor covering the front and rear halls
and two cameras on the third floor covering the front and rear halls.
We added three new cameras for this investigation. One was placed on the second floor in the “opera room”, one in the kitchen
and one was placed in the basement.
Investigators already had a history of
the Knickerbocker along with what activity had been reported. Peg had nothing
new to report from our last investigation.
The investigation began at 9:43pm
and the following equipment was used by investigators. 7
Infrared camera DVR system, EMF meters, K2 meter, digital cameras, digital voice recorders, hand held mini DV infrared camcorders and infrared
thermometers.
During
the investigation we captured a little over 42 hours of video on the DVR system, 7 hours of video and audio that was captured
by handheld Mini DV’s, 554 photos and over 9 hours of audio captured on the audio recording devices.
During
the investigation there was only one investigator that reported a personal experience.
This experience was reported by Larry as investigators were on the third floor performing an EVP session.
Larry
reports that while sitting in the “Angel Room” he observed seeing a shadow like figure moving in the hallway from the area
of the children’s room.
The Evidence
During
this investigation at the Knickerbocker there was no physical evidence caught by any of our equipment.
On a side
note we were able to recreate a photo from our last investigation. This photo
was taken in the “choking room” and appeared to be a black mass streaking across the wall.
We were
able to get the same effect after a lot of photos were taken. (see the debunked
photos section for the write-up)
Conclusion
During
this investigation the only activity reported was the shadow reported by Larry. All
members of the team at some point during the investigation had made the comment that the building didn’t “feel”
the same that it had felt on our last investigation.
Also,
and of course this is only our opinion, our team was under some stress during this investigation due to some unforeseen situations. We are unable to say with certainty but we think that our mindset or feelings may
have had something to do with the low activity.
Again
we want to extend our thanks to Peg Knickerbocker and her family for opening their doors and letting us investigate the beautiful
building again.
