The Oil
Region Paranormal Investigation Team investigated an Oil City
residence on 01-30-09. Our
client requested that the investigation location and names of all people involved remain confidential. Therefore much information about the investigation will be omitted from internet web posting.
Client
Report:
Clients
report that they moved in to the residence, which was built in the late 1890’s, in September of 2006 with their four
children. Both clients state that they loved the house and for them it felt like
home from the first time they did a walk through of the residence.
They report
that their one child, a female adolescent, stated that she disliked the house the moment they were doing the walkthrough and
asked that they not move in to the residence.
Clients
report that when they moved in to the residence that the family seemed to be struck with a lot of bad luck. This included the one client breaking an ankle halting any remodeling, a member of the extended family
passed and a serious work related accident. All of these occurred within a few
months of moving in to the new house.
Soon after
all of these happenings the client’s adolescent daughter began showing signs of depression and was later diagnosed with
a form of depression.
Clients
report that their daughter has reported the following to them and feel that if there is something in the residence that it
is attracted to her and affecting her in a negative way. (This member of the
family was not available to be interviewed by our investigators.)
The client
reports that her daughter has told her of not being able to sleep, feelings of always being watched, hearing voices, seeing
black and white forms in her bedroom and hearing a growling noise from the closet area in her room. Also she feels very uncomfortable with the basement and third floor areas.
The client
states that over the past few years that her daughters encounters have become worse and she contacted our group for an investigation
to either rule out or find some type of evidence of a malevolent force that may be forcing her daughter to do certain things.
We asked
the clients if they had ever experienced any type of paranormal occurrences in the residence.
The male client said that he had only experienced a few unknown happenings in the residence. He stated that he was in the kitchen and heard the outside door open and thought it was the mail man putting
mail in to the mail slot. He said that when he looked there was no mail in the
slot and that he didn’t see anyone.
Both clients
reported that on one occasion that all of the cups in a kitchen cupboard were placed on one side of the cupboard as if someone
took their arm and slid them over.
The female
client reported that the night she was visiting our web site that a very strong feeling of oppressiveness came over her and
that when she walked upstairs she thought she saw a form in the hallway.
THE INVESTIGATION:
The investigation
was held on 1-30-09 and all members of ORPIT was present. The clients opted to
leave the residence during the investigation to insure that they would not interfere investigation.
The following
equipment was utilized during the investigation.
DVR infrared
4 cameras.
Digital
voice recorders.
Mini DV
camcorders.
EMF Detectors.
K2 Meter.
I.R. Thermometers.
Digital
Camera’s
I.R. Digital
Camera
With the
DVR system 13 hours of video was captured.
The mini
DV’s recorded 8 hours of video and audio.
8.5 hours
of audio was recorded on the voice recorders.
326 photos
were taken between the standard camera’s and the I.R. camera.
After
review of all of the captured evidence there was nothing recorded or captured that would suggest any type of paranormal activity.
The only
personal experience that occurred happened in the third floor, during an EVP session.
Investigators were asking a series of questions when two investigators observed two lights appear on the floor in front
of them then disappear.
Investigators
searched for the source of these two lights but were unable to trace them back to anything and the lights did not appear during
the rest of the investigation.
During
the investigation there were no recorded temperature fluctuations, no interactions with the K2
meter and no EMF fluctuations that could not be traced to a source.
Investigation
of the residence did reveal the following.
Throughout
the entire residence there was a very high EMF with the exception of the basement area.
On the first floor the average EMF was at a 1.5mg with spikes in excess of a 2.7mg in some areas.
On the
second and third floors our team found the same type of EMF readings that would spike in upwards to 35mg when around certain
appliances and as high as 17mg in certain areas of the walls and electrical outlets.
Investigators
spent a lot of time in the adolescent daughters room where most of the activity was said to be happening and found the following.
On a nightstand
at the head of the bed there was a boom box style radio that emitted a constant EMF of 37mg.
This boom box was within approx two feet from where the child’s head would be during sleep and also while lounging
in the room.
We also
were able to track an extremely high EMF that was coming from the foot of the
bed where a TV, DVD player and alarm clock was located. This combo of appliances
spiked EMF meters to 150mg at the peak and maintained a normal reading of 73.5mg.
In the
middle of this room the EMF meters stayed at a constant 2.5mg. This reading was
the same for the daughters bed.
During
the time that investigators stayed in the room some were overcome with feelings of nausea, pressure in the ears and some other
slight discomforting feelings associated with EMF Hypersensitivity that was relived upon exiting the room.
At the
end of the investigation we briefly spoke with the client about our findings and expressed our concern with the extreme EMF
that was located in her daughters room that was being effected.
We suggested
that she be removed from that room and placed in another room in the residence that we had checked and found the EMF levels
to be at a 1mg or lower.
OUR OPINION:
It is
the opinion of ORPIT that there is no paranormal activity occurring at the residence.
It is our feeling that the adolescent child is suffering from a form of EMF Hypersensitivity that is showing itself
in the most common symptoms within the child. We also feel that the child’s
extreme symptoms are the cause of the prolonged exposure (2+ years) of this high EMF along with the child’s underlying
mental status.
We have
expressed our concerns to the clients and have advised them to keep their child in therapy that she is currently receiving
to ensure the proper mental health treatment that she needs. We advised the client
that we have only a theory and advised them to attempt to correct the EMF issues.
UPDATE:
During
the reveal we spoke to the clients and they advised that they immediately acted on our recommendation to remove the child
from her current room with the high concentration of EMF in to the other room that was suggested. They stated that their child reported to them that she slept peacefully and throughout the entire night
for the first time in a long time while at the house.
We will
attempt to update this case on the progress.
